Victory on the Cross – May 2026

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me (Matthew 10:38 NKJV).
Don’t follow Christ without the cross
Is it possible to follow Christ without the cross?
Yes, it is. Often, we think we are following Christ by going to church regularly, hearing sermons, singing songs, and praying to God with full sincerity. But the main missing point is the Cross. Where is the cross while you do all these? Is it with you, or did you forget about it?
Shall we look at it through the Word of God, John chapter 6?
While Jesus was in His earthly ministry, one day Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee. Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed on those who were diseased. Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?”
Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.” One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?” Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So, the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.
Jesus multiplied the bread and the fish, so the great multitude who followed Him ate the loaves and happily wanted to return to their homes, saying, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.” And they planned to take Jesus by force to make Him king over the Jews. Therefore, when Jesus perceived that they were about to come, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.
On the following day, when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when did You come here?”
Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.” (John 6:26-27 NKJV).
When Jesus began to teach about eternal life, the great multitude walked away from Him. Because they had no idea of eternal life. They wanted Jesus just to bless them and solve their problems in their day-to-day life. They don’t like to be corrected by the Lord Jesus. Instead, what they want is healings, deliverance and bread to fill their stomachs. They like to follow Christ only without the cross.
This is where we Christians keep falling into the trap of the devil. The devil will allow us to follow Christ, but without the cross. We keep going to church, also read the word of God, and pray to God. But we won’t allow God to convict our sins and correct us.
We don’t follow Christ just for the World. Rather, we follow Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life.
You may think I receive all blessings from God, whatever I pray for. Yes, it is so, God answers your prayers because He is compassionate, not because we are worthy. But for eternal life, you need to be convicted by the Lord, corrected by the Word of God, which will make you carry the cross wherever you go with the Lord Jesus.
Without the Cross, you cannot love God. With the cross, you will bring the body to subjection, and you will love your God with all your heart
My beloved, every day when you come before God, ask Him to transform you to be more like Him with all your heart. In that deep intimacy, He will bring out the shortcomings you go through, and He will instruct you through the word of God to make it right. In this process, when you obey the word of God, you are getting ready to carry the cross. Meanwhile, you die, He lives in you, and He transforms you into His image and makes you ready for eternal life, Amen.
Don’t follow Christ with the wrong cross
Is it possible to follow Christ with the wrong cross?
Yes, it is so.
Matthew 16:21-22 NKJV
From that time, Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day. [22] Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”
When the Lord Jesus told His disciples about His sufferings on the cross, Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!” Meaning Peter is speaking about the wrong cross. Saying it won’t happen to you. Peter is having completely different ideas about Lord Jesus when He went to Jerusalem. He thought Jesus would be a King in Jerusalem when He reached there. This was the wrong cross given by Peter to Jesus. But knowing the cross given by God, Jesus said
Matthew 16:23 NKJV “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
Satan always offers you the wrong cross through your dearest friend, someone from your family. You won’t believe somebody new to you, so Satan chooses this very close one to attack you, to make you carry a wrong cross.
On the other side, in John Chapter 6, the great multitude wanted Jesus to be the King over the Jews. But Jesus left them, went back to the mountain alone by Himself.
Therefore, when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone. John 6:15 NKJV
So don’t design your own cross or make your own cross. Rather, take the cross that was given by God. When you are saved by God, you get gifts and power from God. In the same manner, you got a Cross from God to carry for the rest of your life. We enjoy the gifts and power from God. But quite often we neglect the Cross that we need to carry. Instead, we design and build our own cross for our own convenience, in the beginning, it would be too comfortable for you, and you would carry it so happily. But when the days go on, it will become a heavy burden to you. Because it was not given by God; instead, it was your own desire. Are you a person who struggles with this problem today? Lord Jesus says
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Meaning the cross given by God is easy; the burden of the God-given Cross is light.
The Cross given by God will help you to reach your destiny in God.
My beloved, today I encourage you to take up the cross and follow Jesus. I’m very sure your journey is going to be the sweetest one. Because Jesus is the sweetest person you could ever taste. When you follow Him with the cross given by God, your life is going to be victorious.
Amen.
