What is really there that the LORD cannot do!
Greetings to you in the name of the Lord Jesus.
What is really there in this whole universe that the Lord cannot do!
We know the story of Abraham very well how that he was childless, and finally how he was blessed to be ‘father of nations’. It was so hard for Abraham that even the word of God says that he ‘patiently endured’ to receive his blessing. In Genesis 12, Abraham, (who was called Abram at that time), and his wife were in a good young age as the word speaks of his wife’s fairness. So, Abraham was receiving the promise from God at his young age. Then his life journey goes on, and when he was 99 years old, in Genesis 17, the LORD encouraged him by assuring him of the promise.
What a vast number of years that Abraham had to wait for the appointed time! Right from his youth to his well-stricken days.
Again The LORD assures them of the promise of giving them child in Genesis 18:10. As God Himself came down from Heaven and assuring them of the child, now what was Sarah’s reaction to this? “….Sarah laughed within herself”- Genesis 18:12
And in Genesis 18:14, the LORD repeats again,
“Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”
What seemed to be highly impossible was casually seen by the LORD when He said, “Is anything too hard for the LORD?” The problem with all of us, including myself, is that we’re not willing to be patient!
“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” – James 1:4
“For when God made promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no greater, He sware by Himself,……..”
“……And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.” – Hebrews 6:13-15
The LORD clearly mentions the term, “the appointed time” in Genesis 18:14
My brothers and sisters, who hold God’s promises, know this truth that we all have our own appointed time!
Before the appointed time, Sarah who laughed within herself of her dead womb, now, after the LORD’s appointed time, how different was her laughter from the former one?
“And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me”- Genesis 21:6
Hallelujah….!!
At present, we may laugh out of unbelief and impossibilities. But He will surely make us laugh, laugh and laugh, at the appointed time! And not only us, all who would hear our testimony will celebrate the glory of God. Let’s wait patiently for the appointed time by standing on His promises! Amen.
