Womens’ – April 2025 – Your bones infused with anointing!
“So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Then He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”” Luke 4:16-21 NKJV
Dears in Christ,
Jesus, after being tempted by the devil, returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit and read these majestic words and announced its fulfilment. His ministry attested to these scriptures. Christ himself needed the Holy Spirit to do what He did. The Holy Spirit is Christ’s equal in the trinitarian sense yet needed by Christ in his earthly ministry. John Owen, puts it like made a rather bold contention that the only singular immediate act of the Son of God (the divine second person) on the human nature of Christ was the decision to take it into subsistence with himself in the incarnation. Every other act upon Christ’s human nature was from the Holy Spirit. Christ performed his miracles through the power of the Holy Spirit, not immediately by his own divine power.
We see the Holy Spirit’s role, In the birth, His baptism, leading Christ to the desert and sustaining Him, His first synagogue reading, his performing of miracles, and enabling Christ to offer himself (Hebrews 9:14), to his Resurrection (Romans 8:11), to his declaration as the Son of God (Romans 1:4) and finally to his vindication (1 Timothy 3:16) we see the hand of Holy Spirit.
One of the most profound statements I have ever read is “Man is a spirit”. More than the physical body, more than the soul, there is a spirit in Man. The breath of God. More than that we are promised the Holy Spirit sent from God the Father and God the Son – Christ. Our spirit becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit. Our soul becomes the seal of the Holy Spirit. As Christ is the cohesive force of the universe, the Holy Spirit in one of his functions, acts as the restrainer. Retraining our own lusts, restraining the sins of the world and restraining the deceiver. He also acts as a judge.
In other functions of Holy Spirit, he acts as the life-giving, vitiating force. The ancient theologians describe this as “the active principle” the one who brings things to life. Today, we are going to meditate on the Holy Spirit as “active principle”. Thomas Aquinas, systematising from the Greeks, calls God as pure act (actus purus). This means that God has no further means of development or progression or change. He is fully perfected, fully realised, immutable, nothing can be added or taken away. He is perfect. We humans, in comparison, are actus potens. Someone with inherent potential for change. There is a latent actuality by the Holy Spirit in us, hidden inside our potentiality. So, when Holy Spirit acts on us, we are
given life. We, as per Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, are actualised. Not by the self, but by the Holy Spirit.
Hence Apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit wrote to the Romans
“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Hence the legalism of Pharisees provoked Christ, hence the legalism of Galatians provoked Apostle Paul, he wrote, “Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?”
There is life in Spirit, there is order in Spirit, there is law and morality in Spirit. And there’s anointing of the Spirit that makes the bones live.
Ezekiel is asked by God in his unfathomable wisdom, to prophesy to the bones so that they become an army ready for God. The bones obeyed the prophet. The dead body that touched Elisha’s bones stood up.
Dears, God calls you to prophecy in the same way. The Holy Spirit has anointed your bones. These are the days of unusual miracles. God never puts an upper limit or stopping point to the anointing, the Spirit is given without measure. Prophecy over your body as led by the Holy Spirit. Prophecy over your bones, prophecy over what has been dead in you, which should be alive!
In conclusion, The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit, you are called for an unusual miraculous life.
God has called you to be a sign in this generation.
God bless you.
