Dear Sister in Christ,
Among the millions, only a few people have the grace to be a part of the names listed under the Genealogy of JESUS CHRIST. Along with Mary’s name, only 3 women’s names are mentioned in the Genealogy found in Mathew 1 and all being Gentiles under the old covenant, the question is,
What made GOD choose the 3?
- Tamar or Thamar – Mathew 1:3
- Rahab or Rachab – Mathew 1:5
- Ruth – Mathew 1: 5
3 Truths from the life of the 3 woman whom even GOD honored and added to the Genealogy can radically transform your life:
- Tamar
Read Genesis 38 to understand the truth better, click here to read Genesis 38 (it takes only a few minutes)
Tamar eagerly expected for the ‘truth’ to be revealed.
“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place” Ephesians 6:14
Cling on to the LORD by praying on knees and GOD will act to bring the truth out and honour you.
Are you suffering because of false reports filed against you? Were any untrue words spoken against you? Even though your doings were righteous, were you framed to have done anything wrong? Are you tormented in your work place with anything that was never your mistake?
Tamar suffered the same. Even Judah her father-in-law, thought Tamar was the reason behind the death of his two sons who died after marrying Tamar. But it wasn’t actually true. Tamar did not comfort herself weeping in her father’s house and take wrong decisions to kill herself or keep lamenting all her life. She made one decision. It was the longing for the truth to come out and the truth came out one day did come out. The same father-in-law who condemned her said, “Tamar you have been more righteous than I am.”
The Bible says, Psalm 85:11- “Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven.”
Make a decision today to seek the truth in this life and pray that the truth will fight itself and bring you honour.
Never forget that the only character that always ties in with truth is mercy.
“Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.” Psalm 85:10
Prepare your heart now to be merciful later to those who persecuted you once your righteousness has shined.
Always remember ‘love’ is the key with which GOD will step in to help you in your situation. If you can remain in ‘humility’ even after the truth comes out, the miracle is near.
- Rahab
Although Rahab was a prostitute, GOD honored her to be an ancestor of CHRIST for one reason: ‘FAITH’.
It was because she chose to have ‘faith’ in the true living God when she was exposed to the truth.
Rahab said, “When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below.” Joshua 2:11
When Rahab let down the scarlet cords/rope with her hands by which the 2 Israelites saved their lives and escaped from Jericho, she would have never realised that there will be another cord she will soon let down but this time not with her hands but the cord from her womb which will one day make way for CHRIST.
My sister, it is important to have ‘faith’ even in the valley of death. Rahab chose to have faith. You should choose to have faith.
Hebrews 11:31 records Rahab in the list of the mighty men of faith who believed in GOD and created today’s history of this earth.
You can create history too if you dare to have ‘faith’ in GOD.
- Ruth
2 widowed daughter-in-laws and 1 widowed mother-in-law, had a conversation which was not really important to anyone around them but it was important to only one person. It was the Almighty-GOD.
Three times the mother-in-law Naomi pleaded, with her two daughters-in-law to return back to their parents. But both of them were faithful to Naomi for the first two times. When Naomi asked the third time, Orpah one of Naomi’s daughter in law decided to go back to her mother and her father but Ruth’s faithfulness stayed unchanged to the very end.
GOD is not impressed with how talented you are but He is interested in how faithful you are.
But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. May the Lord do so to me and more also if anything but death parts me from you.” Ruth 1:16,17
Even though Ruth herself was filled with deep sadness with the loss of her husband, she was faithful to her mother-in-law who was the only thing that remained from her marriage. GOD saw that, He gave her favour in the eyes of Boaz a relative who married her which changed her life and Ruth would have never imagined when she spoke the above verses to her mother-in-law that because of her faithfulness she will become the great grandmother of the mighty King David and also to another KING years later- JESUS CHRIST the KING of KINGS.
Only be faithful with what is left with you. Your blessing to your victory-end is secretly hidden in today’s little things. So be careful, what you have today is the door to tomorrow and so be faithful even over the often least-valued decisions you are going to make.
3 lessons:
- Eagerly Pray and Seek the Truth.
- Choose to have Faith without considering current situation.
- Be Faithful with what you have today.
GOD richly bless you
