The urge to share the Gospel

March 4, 2016

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, it gives me joy to write to you about God who keeps His words. How comforting to know that someone can be trusted in this world of uncertainty. I just have a single thought to share to you. It is the heart’s cry of God, that His love is shared to as many as possible. The chief end of man should be to glorify God.

I came across a beautiful quote, “There are five Gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke John, and the Christian, but most people never read the first four.” Dr Bobby Conway, who wrote a book called as “The fifth Gospel” says this, “Sadly, many Christian’s believe they’ve got this 9-5 window each week where they are free to evangelistically detach from missional living. The reality is many in the church have gone ‘missionally’ mute. The Fifth Gospel is an invitation to live less monastic and more missional. It’s a plea that asks, ‘Will the real Christian please stand up?’

Dostoyevsky writes this, “Even those who have renounced Christianity and attack it, in their inmost being still follow the Christian ideal, for hitherto neither their subtlety nor the ardour of their hearts has been able to create a higher ideal of man and of virtue than the ideal given by Christ.” Swami Vivekananda, even though he did not consider Jesus Christ as the God, writes this, “Had I lived in Palestine, in the days of Jesus of Nazareth, I would have washed his feet, not with my tears, but with my heart’s blood!

Yet, the most amazing thing is He chose to spread His good news through us, and we should be privileged to be the ambassadors of Christ. As apostle Paul writes, we have this treasures in jars of clay that the Excellency of power may be not of us, but of God.

Let us share the Gospel. There is nothing nobler, more unselfish than sharing the Gospel. May God bless you.
