July Promise 2025 – Fruits of Righteousness

July 1, 2025

Since the beginning of 2025, we have been learning about the different fruits that God wants to bring out in our lives. This year, God has promised that we will give birth to the fruits we were created to bear.

Let’s look back at what we have learned so far:

Now in July, we are focusing on the fruit of righteousness.

“Filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.” – Philippians 1:11

God wants our lives to be full of the fruits of righteousness.

In Ephesians 6:14, we read about the Armour of God, and one of them is the breastplate of righteousness. In ancient times, a breastplate protected a soldier’s heart and chest. Today, we might call it a bulletproof vest – something very important for a soldier.

Job 29:14 says, “I put on righteousness as my clothing; justice was my robe and my turban.”
This shows how righteousness should cover us every day like clothes.

Some fruits of righteousness that we can show in our lives:

1. Raising Godly Children

Genesis 18:19 – “For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice…”

God spoke these words about Abraham. What a powerful testimony – God trusted Abraham to teach his children to follow Him. Can God trust us like this?

Raising godly children, who live to honour God, is one of the greatest fruits of righteousness.

Malachi 2:15 (ESV) – “Did he not make them one… And what was the one God seeking? Godly offspring…”

God desires children who grow up to love God, fear God, obey God. This is something we must work towards in our homes.

2. Helping the Poor and Needy

Jesus spoke clearly about this in Matthew 25:35-40:
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat… whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Jesus calls those who help the needy “the righteous.”

Proverbs 4:18 says,
“The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”

Our lives shine brighter when we help those in need.

Isaiah 58:10 – “If you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness…”

The poor, broken, and hurting people are always close to God’s heart. When we help them, we are serving God Himself.

3. Righteousness Brings Persecution

Jesus said in Matthew 5:10
“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Every Christian faces some form of persecution – it may come from people, governments, or even spiritual attacks.

Psalm 44:22 – “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
Paul also quoted this verse to remind us of the struggles Christians face.

But don’t give up. God sees every tear, every struggle. He will reward us.

Daniel 12:3 – “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”

Prayer:

Dear Lord,
Thank you for July.
Thank you for your grace that will sustain us through this month.
We pray for enough grace to bear fruits of righteousness:
through the lives of our children,
through helping the poor and needy,
and through the oppressions or sufferings we face,
and in all walks of life – help us to wear the breastplate of righteousness,
as we cloth ourselves with the rightesouness of Christ Himself.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a blessed July 2025.
