God’s Offspring
Who are you?
What comes to your mind when asked this question.
Some identify themselves based on their talents, some their eating habits, some on looks and appearances and so on. Although these criterias have a form of identity, these have to be on the last of your list of who you are. And of truth, these are not the things that defines a person.
Many young ones in your generation struggle with identity. Many seemed to have got it wrong mostly and have given themselves to the demands, lust and opinions of selfish people and the systems of the cosmetic world, ever chasing and never getting over.
Let me remind you of the truth from the Word of GOD because your basic identity comes from God. If you can receive this now at this young age, you will be wise and this will spare you from unwanted worries and confusions in life. Seeing yourself from God’s perspective makes you feel beautiful, valued and loved.
No matter your physical appearance, your talents and intellects, You are God’s offspring on earth.
To know yourself, you need to know God, for you were created in His image and in His likeness (Genesis 1:27). But inorder to walk in your potential you need to be freed. You may ask, “Freed? From what?” Well, we all are bound by the power of sin which we all need to be delivered from. And there is only one way to be freed from sin. It is through Jesus Christ our Lord. Jesus knew we all sinned and were bound by the power of sin. So Jesus, who is God in flesh knew our weakness, willingly came to save us who belonged to Him. He loved us so much that He struggled and died to pay the cost for our sins and free us from the empower of sin and its punishment – death and hell. So now whoever repents of their sins and believes that Jesus Christ died and rose again for your sins and resolve to follow Him now and ever and walk in obedience, will be forgiven and freed from the power of sin. But it is not only being freed from sin, we all need help to walk in our full potential, don’t we? God knew we need help and without help we would mess up. So He gave His Holy Spirit to help us- He instructs us, He teaches us and He gives us power to overcome sin. He clothes us with power. So my dear Children in Christ, what are you waiting for? With God you can be YOU.
Dear God, I come just as I am, I acknowledge, You are my Creator and I belong to you. I understand my sins have separated me from you. But I believe that the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus can free me from sin and help me live the way you have created me to be. So, God would you forgive me for the wrong I have done for Jesus’ sake and let me know you personally. Also, I confess I cannot live to the fullest without the help of the Holy Spirit. So, God fill me today with your Holy Spirit. In Jesus name I ask, Amen
