My dear children in Christ. Blessings to you from Jesus our Lord.
Let us look into the life of Little Samuel.
Once there was a woman named Hannah. She was married to Elkanah. But Hannah was very sad because she had no child. She was also made fun of by other people, So, she would cry often. One day, Hannah and her family went to the House of God to worship Him and to offer offerings. But even there, Hannah was made fun of. And so, Hannah with tears in her eyes and pain at heart, went into the House of God and prayed to God. There she poured out her tears and her pain to God. She also promised God that, If God would bless her with a baby boy, she would give him to the Him all the days of his life. GOD heard this prayer and blessed Hannah with a baby boy. And Hannah named him Samuel. But Hannah did not forget to keep her promise to God. She gave the baby boy Samuel to God for all his life. So, unlike the other boys of his age, little Samuel was left to be in the House of God, that he would set himself apart for God all through his life. But this wasn’t a boring thing to do. Though Samuel did not do the things those other boys of his age did and thought to be most wonderful. Samuel definitely had the most exciting and wonderful life than any of them, knowing God and hearing God all the time. And so, Samuel lived happily with God all through his life.
My dear children, If you would also love to have such a wonderful life like Samuel, to know God and to hear God and to be with Him all the time, then you must also set yourself apart from things that hurt God. Setting apart yourself means keeping yourself away from good-for-nothing TV program, good-for-nothing conversations, unhealthy friendships, unhealthy ideology, culture and tradition that hurts God. Instead, spend time in knowing God through listening to stories about God and His wonderful works, watching good videos about God, attending Sunday school, reading Bible and talking to God through prayer.
May God bless you to be the Samuel of this time.
Would you say a prayer with me?
Dear God.
I come to you today, asking you to bless me like you blessed little Samuel. Help me to set myself apart from things You don’t like that I may spend my life with you now and ever. In Jesus name,
Amen.
