Find the Right gate! (February Children’s Post)

February 1, 2020

My dear children in Christ, it is such a joy for me to be writing to you through this blog.

It says in Matthew 7: 13,14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

As said by our Lord Jesus in the parable of the Lost Son (Luke 15:11-32), the younger son was so lured by the riches and fun of this world that he took his entire share of his father’s wealth and went to a far off country until time came when he was left with nothing! But when he returned with a repentant heart the father was so gracious and full of love to accept him back as his own son with no measure of remorse over him.

It’s the same with us too! Sometimes when we see the flamboyance of this world, we are so taken away by it that we tend to follow the pattern of this world which is easier to get away with than to pursue the truth.

This is exactly what Jesus says in the above mentioned verses in bold! Probably lying, cheating, manipulating to get away from some wrong we have done seems so much more easier than confess the truth, walk in the right path and set right ourselves as it costs more!

But dear children, the Bible says, “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Anything that we do which displeases God is like the wide gate which is so much easier to identify and follow because the majority choose it but narrow is the gate which leads to eternal life and the Bible says there are few who even find it! That’s pretty scary.

Every time you choose to obey your parents in the Lord, be submissive to your elders and teachers in doing good, tell the truth, stand up for what is right, love and care for each other, be sincere in what you do and above everything else read your Bible and pray you choose to go by the narrow gate. It might seem difficult but it will lead you to eternal life – to where God is!

So my dear children, today I urge you to choose right! May God bless you.

Make this short prayer with me:

Dear Jesus,

I’ve learned from your word that wide is the way that leads to destruction and narrow the way to eternal life. I don’t want to go the wrong way Lord. Please help me find the narrow road which leads to You. Help me follow what pleases You with the help of Your Holy Spirit.

In Jesus name. Amen.
