Only JESUS Gives You Victory

January 31, 2020

“But Thanks be to GOD who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” 1 Corinthians 15:57

“Death is swallowed up in victory” 1 Corinthians 15:55

There was once a little boy who grew in a town where there was much evil. Everywhere there was robbery, murders and every evil. Even the teenagers in every part of the town would fight with each other and bully the younger ones who would even pass by them. This little boy never went alone anywhere. His daddy always accompanied him everywhere he went. When the boy grew to go to school, he would see how these evil young men would form gangs and always bully everyone who went by that way but to his surprise they will never even look at this little boy when he and his dad would pass by that way. The boy began noticing this almost every time he went out to the shop or school or to the playing fields. The boy thought to himself that these gangs where afraid of him and so they never bullied him and what he did not know was that his daddy was not only a gentleman who behaved well but also the best boxer and body builder in his town and was very mighty man. So the little boy in his ignorance, would always have a smile on his face whenever he would pass by these gangs thinking how mighty he was and how nobody ever dared even to speak to him. One day when the little boy was so proud of himself he went out on his own to the streets without the knowledge of his daddy and not only did he go out but he chose to walk through the streets and the corners where the evil men were together. When everyone knew the little boy was by himself they wished to harm him and for the first time the little boy saw these big evil men were coming nearer and nearer. The boy was very much scared looking at the evil in the faces of these cruel men but in just a moment of time when they were about to harm the boy, they all put this boy down and ran away and disappeared from his sight. The boy this time guessed the truth. His daddy was now standing behind him. When the boy went home, he thanked his dad for coming to save his life and never went away from his dad. Finally the boy grew up and wholly realised how that it was only because of his dad the evil people were afraid of him and not because of his strength or might. Only when we get to heaven we will realise how weak we have been in this world. So, never think you are eligible enough to fight here without JESUS. This never means you do not have to fight but this story only means that you have to fight but with JESUS in you and not on your own.

JESUS is in you when you obey His word that He put in you.

The little boy was too young to understand what evil might have happened to him if he would have been on his own and fallen into the hands of these evil men but one can easily guess what evil could have happened to him if he was on his own without his dad. We are like the little boy no matter how wise and old we have become. JESUS is the Victor and as long as we continue to walk with Him we are safe.

My dear friend, we cannot win this world just by ourselves. It is God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Depend on the LORD in everything you do and know His will for you. It is in doing the will of the LORD we are saved and we become victorious. No death, no enemy can ever hurt us even for a second when we stand with JESUS. Paul the Apostle was a mighty man of God who won may spiritual battles. But he himself was restricted by the Holy SPIRIT from going to a few places and Paul carefully obeyed the voice of the Holy SPIRIT and never went to those places (Acts 16:6).

This year, let us carefully obey the voice of Jesus. Only His voice is victorious. It is he who has swallowed up death in victory. Without Him we are nothing. Only with Him, you defeat everything that comes against you whether it be sickness or sin or death or lust or devil. Let us never leave Jesus’ presence and do anything on our own.

Abide in Jesus and the end is victory, victory, victory, victory and victory. Amen.

Prayer:

Gracious GOD,

We pray that we will never leave your presence even for a second in our lives. We ask that we will always be filled with the Holy SPIRIT and be led by your SPIRIT and overcome the evil around us. We thank you for all the victories that you have kept for us in 2020 and in the years to come through our Lord JESUS CHRIST.

This we ask in JESUS’ name, Amen.
