The Second Coming of the Son of Man

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.” (Rev 22: 12)

“..and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.” (Isaiah 2: 17)

“For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. And the idols he shall utterly abolish. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.” (Isaiah 2: 12;17-19)

“Of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but the Father only. The Father does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with the world, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3: 9)

“Blessed is the one that watches and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.” (Revelation 16: 15)

Faithfulness

Focus on faithfulness this year

“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing. Truly I say to you, that he shall make him ruler over all his goods.” (Matthew 24: 42-44)

“His lord will say to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’” (Matthew 25: 21,23)

Jesus was faithful on those given to him

“That the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, “Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.” (John 18: 9)

“Jesus Christ is the faithful witness.” (Revelation 1: 5)

“Christ was faithful as a Son over His house.” (Hebrews 3: 5)

Faithfulness is believing that He is my Lord and my God. Not a God of ancestors, Not a God of corporate. Not an impersonal God. But my Lord and my God!

“Jesus said to him, Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” (John 20: 29)

“Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, But who can find a faithful man?” (Proverbs 20: 6)

“A faithful witness does not lie.” (Proverbs 14: 5)

Faith is complemented by action and is not just an intellectual agreement of an idea.

“What good is it, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith, but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you tells him, “Go in peace; stay warm and well fed,” but does not provide for his physical needs, what good is that? So too, faith by itself, if it is not complemented by action, is dead.” (James 2: 14-17)

“Was not our father Abraham justified by what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith was working with his actions, and his faith was perfected by what he did. And the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God. As you can see, a man is justified by his deeds and not by faith alone.” (James 2: 21-24)
