First step to Exaltation – Colossians 3:20

December 15, 2019

My beloved Children, I greet you all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Apostle Paul says in Ephesians 6:1 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right” and the same Apostle Paul also says in Colossians 3:20, “Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.”

Today, it is rare to see children obeying their parents. They think that they know everything. But the Bible clearly says that, if children have to please the Lord, then they have to obey their parents in all things. This obedience will pave the way for God to exalt you according to His will. Let us see a few examples from the Bible.

Isaac remained silent, even when his father Abraham tied him and laid him in the altar to sacrifice. Isaac did not speak against Abraham. Genesis 22:9,10
Do you know what was the result of this? God confirmed the blessings he had for Isaac’s future. Genesis 22:20-22
God blessed Isaac and his wife in everything and protected them. Genesis 26:11-13

Saul obeyed the voice of his father and went in search of the lost donkeys. 1 Samuel 9:3,4
It was this obedience which paved the way for Saul to be anointed a king by Prophet Samuel. 1 Samuel 10:1

David obeyed the voice of his father and went to check the welfare of his brothers. 1 Samuel 17:17,18,20
It was this obedience that paved the way for the Lord to exalt David according to his plans. 1 Samuel 18:7
God blessed the shepherd David to be a king.

Joseph obeyed the words of his father and went to check the welfare of his very brothers who hated him and this led Joseph towards his honour in life. Even though Joseph was sold to be a slave in Egypt, God exalted him to be a ruler. Genesis 41:41-43

My dear children, learn to honour your parents and obey your parents in everything.
It is very clear that it is this obedience that God has as your first step to exalt you to the glorious blessings He has for you.

The Lord Himself bless you, Amen.
