“Is anything too hard for Me?” Genesis 18:14
Greetings to all my dear friends! It’s truly a joy for me to be writing to you through this post.
Recently our prayer group was meditating on Joshua chapters 3 & 4. It talks about the story of how God parted the Jordan River for His children, the Israelites to pass through on dry ground.
As a little child I’ve always admired this passage, as crossing an overflowing river bank on dry shod was something that always amazed me. No matter how many times I read it, it gives me the same sense of awe as when I was a child!
But this time there was another verse which struck me more and realized that this is what God Almighty can do if He does it for His people.
It says in Joshua 4:5 , “ And Joshua said to the them (the Israelites): ‘ Cross over before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and each one of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel’”.
It was a very simple thought that crossed my mind but quite intriguing.
The overflowing river which humanly is impossible to cross was the very thing through which they walked – unharmed and not just that God commands them to pick up stones right from the middle of the river to keep it as a remembrance as to what the Lord has done for them!!
The very problem that stood as a barrier to reaching their promised land was from where God gives them memorials to keep!! Hallelujah!
My dear friend, you might be facing difficult situations too! Sometimes to an extent you wonder whether you will make it to your promised land or not. But today there is a God who says to you, “Do not fear, do not be dismayed for I am your God” (Isaiah 41:10). From the very place where you think you would drown, God will make you to walk right through it on dry shod and make you pick memorials from there as a remembrance of His majesty.
You serve a mighty God. So hang on!! Miracles are round the corner. You might just be a prayer away!
Jesus loves you.
