The woman You gave (Women’s post)

June 29, 2019

Genesis 3:12 records Adam’s words after the fall

“And the man said, ‘the woman you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.”

Although in the above scenario where Adam was justifying his fall by pointing his fingers at Eve referring her as ‘the woman God gave’, what He said was very true- “Women are God given.”

Why did God give woman?

In Genesis 2:20-22, it is clear that man needed a helper. God seeing that there was no helper for Adam, created a woman and gave her to the man.

The Bible shares the lives of certain women who were helpers to men- some to life & some to death.

Exodus 4:25 shows how Zipporah circumcised her son and touched Moses’s feet with the skin which made God spare Moses’ life.

1 Samuel 25:22-28 shows how Abigail sent gifts to David and his servants and also asked for forgiveness which quenched David’s anger. And her husband Nabal the Carmelite’s life was spared from David.

As God has given woman to help man, she has to help and not remain silent.

Acts 5:2-9 shows how Sapphira remained silent even though she knew that a part of the money was kept back and still went in agreement with her husband to lie to the Spirit of the Lord. As a result, both Sapphira and her husband fell at the feet of the apostle Peter and died.

Remaining silent at the time of speaking out and going along at the time of stepping out will lead to the fall. It doesn’t matter if things doesn’t work good because of speaking out and stepping out in order to obey God. The good God will fight for you, protect you and your family, set you in honour and reward you for your righteousness.

“Every wise woman builds her house; but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.” Proverbs 14:1

Pray! Be Wise! Build!

May God bless us to build our homes wisely according to His will, in Jesus name, Amen
