Be careful what you speak (June Promise)
My dearly beloved, I greet you all in the name of Christ Jesus.
There are definitely trials and tribulations in the lives of all of us who follow Jesus. It is a misconception to think that all of these are the devil’s doing.
1. At times, God allows certain tribulations in our lives to show us how great He is or to help us overcome the world. He tested Abraham in this manner. Genesis 22: 1,2
2. Sometimes, God allows Satan to test us. Job 1: 9-12
3. But, we should be totally aware that most of these trials are due to lack of our belief.
“I will give unto thee all the land of Canaan” was a promise made to the Israelites.
Moses sent, as the Lord asked him to, of every tribe a man to explore the land of Canaan. These men returned to Moses after 40 days of seeing the land, what it is and the people that dwell therein.
But the men who returned brought up an evil report of the Lord saying, “We will not be able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than us”. But Caleb, of the tribe of Judah stilled the people and said, “Let us go up at once, and posses it, for we are well able to overcome it”.
God blessed Caleb and his descendants according to Caleb’s word of faith but the other eleven tribes wandered in the wilderness for forty years, after the number of days they searched the land. Numbers 14: 34
The Lord is always true to His word. It is our words of disbelief that puts us into tribulations. Therefore, it is important to guard our tongue at all times. When we place our trust completely on Christ regardless of our situations, we can surely avoid these hardships.
‘A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth’ – Proverbs 13: 2
God bless you.
