Youth Post | ‘The LORD of Hosts’
Glory be to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Young and vibrant people of the Lord’s army who serve the Lord of hosts, beware satan is roaming about like a devouring lion awaiting a chance to destroy us. But stay strong, there is no need for us to fear any power or authority that might stand against us. It is definitely possible for us to overcome it.
The only Israelite who stood bravely against the giant, Goliath was a simple shepherd boy David. How was he able to do it?
When King Saul asked David how a small boy like him would be able to fight Goliath who has been a soldier all his life, David answered “The Lord who helped me grab the lion and bear by it’s throat and beat it to death will help me do the same to this phillistine who has defied the army of the Living God. What does the lion and the bear here signify?
Let’s read Rev. 13:2 “The beast looked like a leopard, with feet like a bear’s feet and a mouth like a lion’s mouth. The dragon gave the beast his own power, his throne, and his vast authority.”
This beast with feet like a bear’s and mouth like a lion’s had the same authority and power as that of satan himself and this beast will be waging a war with the saints of the Lord.
Since David had the anointing to slay lions and bears, Goliath who seemed like an undefeatable warrior to all the Israelites, seemed nothing more than a beast (Satan’s power against the Israelites) to David.
David knew that the Lord of the armies of Israel would surely help him slay this beast. This made him to bravely answer King Saul that he would defeat this phillistine by the name of the Lord.
Even today, as we the children of God face all the evil powers and authorities of darkness with the same trust that David had in the Lord, He shall surely anoint us just like he anointed David. The only thing God expects from us is to completely surrender ourselves to Him for Him to work wonders and miracles through us.
