Rooting in what’s everlasting
Greetings to everyone.
This post is about something I’ve been concerned about lately and something very close to my heart.
Lately, every section of the society has been inundated with the access to humongous information at the tap of a finger. Now I work in the digital sector, and with the flourishing of content in general and more specifically in digital channel kicks a fatter pay rise for me. But isn’t the downpour of this information enough to divert us from our goals and aims in life. Personally, I had to recenter my thoughts, dreams, aspirations, priorities after a bout of exposure to social media, television, movies and documentaries not long ago. Although the content that I was consuming was a combination of work related to life related (read necessary), I definitely lost a connection with my inner self. I went about doing my job and duties as I would normally do but I couldn’t help myself from thinking about the content and longing to catch-up on them.
Content creation in diverse genres is something the world has resorted to in a big way like never before. And there’s no escaping it as long as we live in our own bubble. But it’s imperative for us to see the bigger picture. It is for a reason that the Bible is called the all-encompassing, life-giving and the only true and necessary manual for our lives. For this is the only Word which talks about the truth alone. It’s just not necessary to read and meditate on the word of God but believe it with conviction even when we are living in a world which is at a tangent.
My dear youngsters, when you are considering your careers, courses, jobs, partners, etc., I urge you to centre it around the Bible, prayer and meditation. It is so easy to be bogged down by the various options that are presented in this world. But please do remember there’s only one person who can give the never drying fountain here on Earth and the world above.
