Serving a prayer answering God!

January 12, 2018

Hello ladies, wish you all a very happy new year and I hope and pray that each one of us is empowered in Him through His grace in the coming days.

In this blogpost I would like to speak about the resilience, patience and determination of the Syrio Phoenician woman and the healing of her daughter which is mentioned in Matthew chapter 15 verses from 21-28.

We see how this woman who had heard about the great healer passing through her town, rushed to see him, with hopes of having her daughter who was possessed by a demon, healed. We see how she was unfazed by the visiting crowd and His entourage and followed Him closely requesting Him to look into her case. When the disciples urged Lord Jesus to lend her an ear, due to the commotion that was being created, she just gets turned down by the master healer, saying that she was not one among the people for whom He had come v.24 (He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”).

Undeterred even by this unfortunate statement she falls to the ground at His feet showing utmost surrender and faith that if there was any way her daughter could be healed, it was only by Lord Jesus and to avail that she could go to any limits.

Her faith, endurance and resilience reaches another level when Lord Jesus says in verse 26 “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”, she replies back by saying in verse 27 “Yes it is, Lord. Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table”.

We see then how Lord Jesus was Himself pleased with her faith and replied, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

I would like to encourage all the readers to be cheerful and persevere in your prayers as our Lord is a prayer answering God and will answer all our prayers and open His channels of blessing in the right time. Let’s keep up the faith, be patient, resilient and continue to know Him more.
