You shall receive in Jesus’ name
Praise be to our God the Father; God the Son; God the Holy Spirit
Greetings to you all, my friends who are loved by the Lord
Our Lord is so much concerned about the life we live and the values which we inculcate in our lives. Man was created in God’s image. And he was purposed to love his Creator above all, and live with his Creator not only in thoughts or by communing with Him but in all means. It may seem that God has purposed a hard ordinance that man must follow the above. Man, by his fall from the Love of his Creator, sees Him to be a hard Person. But God, with full of Love and Affection, has never gave up on man even when he has gone astray from Him by continual sin which made God to give His own Son, Jesus Christ to die for all of our sins. God wants all of us to see Him as the Loving Father. Man has misunderstood and misrepresented God.
Every man has his own heart’s desire and God, happily, wants to fulfil it. God is never a hard Person. He is the Person full of Love and abundant in Mercy. He wants to bless His dear children fulfilling their heart’s desire. But man, by his life away from the Love of his Creator, has deviated from the true wisdom; and his heart is not consistent with the truth and good values which God had implanted in him. The image of God is greatly deformed in man, who was initially created in His image. And, now, man runs after fame, money, position and innumerable evil which are totally contradictory to God’s Law of Love.
For an instance, we see in the days of our Lord Jesus, a man called John was asking Jesus his heart’s desire,
“Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask” – Mark 10:35
John desired to sit at the position which is next to the throne of Jesus in His Kingdom.
John’s desire was not correlating with God’s desire which is always righteous. Here, he is severely determined to have the greatest position, among men, in His Kingdom. Pride takes control of John’s heart and that is why he was given the befitting reply from the Saviour –
“You do not know what you ask” – Mark 10:38
John’s heart, here, does not adhere to the true values which God had implanted in man. It was sin that has changed all of our heart that we could not differentiate good and evil. The desire of heart is totally impaired that even a sin seems to be righteous in our own eyes.
Had God gave up on John for his ignorant wicked intention? Jesus transformed John’s life. John saw the Wonderful Love of God through Jesus. He saw that money, fame, and even the highest position which he yearned for is nothing before the loving character of his Creator that he became not a man of position but a man who is called ‘Beloved John’. He started learning the heart of His Creator. He was the one who leaned on Jesus’ bosom.
And what is the surprise that we receive from John’s life. We all pray in Jesus name at the end of every prayer which we utter, and the blessing of asking whatever in Jesus’ name has come to the whole mankind through which apostle? Isn’t John the apostle who, once, was determined for his position. When Jesus transformed his life, John regained the true values and then Jesus made him a blessing of asking heart’s desire to the entire mankind.
In the Gospel of John, we read this surprising Scriptures,
“And whatever you ask in My name, that I (Jesus) will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” – John 14:13
“If you ask anything in My (Jesus) name, I will do it” – John 14:14
“Most assuredly, I (Jesus) say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you” – John 16:23
“Until now you have asked nothing in My (Jesus) name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full” – John 16:24
Dears, see how many promises regarding our heart’s desire has been given to all of us by our Lord through John!
God, happily, wants to fulfil the desires of our heart. He wants to bestow whatever we ask in Jesus’ name. It is the loss of the true values, by sin, has made us to ask immoral things which seem to be good and righteous in our own eyes.
Just like John the apostle, let’s lean on the bosom of Jesus; let’s learn from Him; let’s get transformed by His Power.
And let’s ask and receive happily our heart’s desire from the Loving Father in Jesus’ Name.
