A Gentle Reminder

December 19, 2016

Dear ones in Christ!!!

What does December remind you of? Christmas, festivity, family, food. But I have something to remind you if you have not gone beyond the above list.

It’s time to be thankful. As we enter the last month of 2016, I would like to ask each one of you to sit back and think about the last 11 months.

I know a girl who is married and we have a chat about life, God and everything. So as we were discussing about being thankful and she said no 2 months of the past 11 months have been the same. She described the year like a roller coaster. You are all geared up, buckled and secure yourself. It starts slow and in a smooth straight path and then it takes off in all the turns varying in height and angles. All you can do is hold tight to the seat and scream on top of your lungs. You are high up in the air, pause for a second and then take off straight down. This time you wonder why did you ever make a choice to take this ride and wish you never had. But after a while it gets better and you start enjoying the ride. When the ride comes to an end, you are thankful for being safe and the little joy you had apart from the ups and downs.

Similarly my dear ones, life gets harder and difficult but remember to thank the one who was with you. You might have lots of why’s and how’s but Jesus is the answer to all your questions. Run to Him, cry, pour out to Him and He will fill you with peace but don’t forget to thank Him for His faithfulness.

I want to remind you about the 10 lepers (Luke 17:11-19) who came to Jesus to be healed. Jesus speaks healing over them and asks them to present themselves to the High priest . While they go to present themselves they find out they are healed. Only one man wanted to come back and thank Jesus for the healing. Even though the other men did not come back to thank Jesus, they were healed. When Jesus says you are healed, He doesn’t say you are healed with a condition. He loves us unconditionally.

As the word of God says in 1Thessolnians 5:18 “In everything give thanks “, let’s thank God for His presence in our life in every situation good or bad.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You with a heart full of thanksgiving. We have failed many a times in our life but you remained truthful. As we enter this last month, help us to think of all the things that happened to us and be thankful.
