Do you Love God?
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
The Bible has lot of promises that are in store for those who love God. But how do we know that we actually do? Almost everyone who goes to church, be it a child or the elderly, would say, “I Love God and He is my all”. This word “Love” has become so common in most of our daily talks and is losing its essence and true value. Also the act of love is becoming more and more outward and dramatic (performance and public display) rather than personal.
We read about Saul, David and Joseph in the Bible. All of them Loved God and worshiped only Him. We see them sacrificing for God, lifting up God’s name and seeking His will. But we can easily did see the measure of their love towards God. Though they all were living in palace, in high positions and were offering countless sacrifices to the Lord, their love to God was measured and judged in their very reactions to certain circumstances. In 1 Samuel 15 we read that Saul disobeyed when he took some of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the choicest of the things devoted to destruction as he fought the Amalekites. Reading of David, we see what he did to Goliath when Goliath spoke ill against the people and nation of God. Though David worshiped God in all his life, there was a time when his love to God was put to question. When he sinned against Uriah. But then Joseph’s life was different at such a situation.
You can manipulate and exaggerate your words. But not your reactions. Your reactions on the spur of the moment defines your nature and the love in you for God. Know the measure of your love to God through your actions.
Love can never be shut within. Love erupts. Love is never idle. Love is passion. Love is never barren. Love is always fruit yielding. Love is never afraid. Perfect Love cast out fear. Do you Love God?
Prayer
Dear Lord, let my Love to you be not in words. Let every moment and actions of my life display and testify my love to you. Help me love You in truth. Amen, in Jesus name.
