Build the Church

August 29, 2016

Dears in Christ, greetings and blessings to you in the sweet name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The church is fondly known as the bride of Christ and one of the main works of Christ is to present the Church to God Himself without a spot or a wrinkle. The book of Revelation talks about the eternal union of Bride and Christ.

Dear sisters, you have a very important role to play in the building of your church. While we live in a patriarchal society, the way God sees things is different from the way we see things. In this age, the women have to stand up in the church pray with steadfast tears like the days of Esther, lead the younger on the path of holiness and prayer, and stand as prophets and visionaries of God in the church.

The hand of God is not shortened to save, and in this age, God is using women mightily to build up His kingdom, especially His Church. Many a time, women in the church devote themselves to prayers and fasting. God is commanding to do it with more jealousy. Two incidents come to my mind on this.

Duncan Campbell famously known for Hebrides revival recounts the genesis of the revival. It started with two women Peggy and Christine, 84 and 82 years of age, one of them blind, were greatly burdened by the appalling state of their church, that they decided to pray twice a week, with one verse serving them as a beacon of hope, “I will pour water on him that is thirsty and floods upon the dry ground”. The rest is history and the Hebrides revival is still talked about till today after 60 years.

Recently there was a month long prayer event held in a country, and one woman went there with a single prayer request, to see Jesus Christ. She prayed eagerly for a week, there was no response, but on the 13th day, after continuous prayer she saw Jesus.

Dear Sisters, never underestimate the power of prayer, especially in churches. God has given this glorious mantle on each and every one of you, to build the Church with your tears. May we all carry his yoke with love for Christ.
