Spirit of God

June 10, 2016

When Jesus ascended up to heaven after His resurrection from the grave, He promised that the Father will send us a Comforter who will be with us and lead us in to all truths. Comforter is not the only name given to the Holy Spirit. Jesus had spoken about the Holy Spirit many times during His life on the earth.

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever – the Spirit of truth. John 14:16-17

When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—He will testify about me. John 15:26

Holy Spirit is the third person in the God head Trinity. He was from the beginning even before the world was formed by the Word of God. He is not a power or force that enables you to do ministry for Jesus. He is a person with whom you can have friendship, fellowship and communion.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14

How can someone who lives in this 21st century know and believe about Jesus who lived 2000 years ago? How can the words of Jesus spoken 2000 years ago be carried still for generations and with the same power and the very authority with which Jesus had spoken them? The answer for all such questions is ‘The Holy Spirit’. Jesus Himself testified about the Holy Spirit as,

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. John 14:26

Holy Spirit had come to testify the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, not just in words but in power and authority. He had come in person to reveal the Lord Jesus Christ in person to those who thirst and hunger to see Jesus. Anything and everything you testify about Jesus now is of the Holy Spirit who lives in you. Yes,

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? 1 Corinthians 6:19

What happens to a mortal man when the Holy Spirit of God dwells in him? The word of God tells in Joel 2:28,

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.

Dear young man! The Holy Spirit had come to you today to fill your mortal life with an eternal vision about Jesus, the Christ and to restore the lost image of God in you to establish the Kingdom of God in and through you. Amen, in Jesus name.

With a thirsty soul, I urge you to seek the infilling to the Holy Spirit in your life focusing only on Jesus.

If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him? Luke 11:13
