I love you, Lord
He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto Him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. John 21:16
The bible says, God chose you and knew you even before the foundations of the world (Ephesians 1:4).
For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight in love. Ephesians 1:4
God knew everything about you and still chose to create this world and create you in it. He knew how you would look, He knew what your name would be and He knew everything about you. He also knew that you will not obey Him and will not walk in holy ways. Did you know God knew He will come down in the form of a man and He will be mocked, people will spit on Him, beat His body so that very form or the visage changes and finally He will be forsaken alone on a cross. God knew He had to go through this if He creates you. God could have chosen not to create you or the rest of the mankind. But, God created you as He loved you the same way He loves you today even before the foundations of the world. That is what God means, “He ‘knew’ us before the foundations of the world”. This is God and His love for you and me, for the people of the world.
My dear friend, God loves you the way you are. Will you come closer to Him and ask for His forgiveness and mercy that you will be washed by His blood and become a new creation?
If this God, the Lord who created us, comes to you as how He came to Peter, calls you by name and asks you the same question today “Do you love me?” What is your answer going to be? Would you answer him back as Peter did, by saying “Lord, I love you”.
Can you answer the question that Jesus asks you today?
Do you love me?
Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus,
Please forgive me all my faults and my sins. Cleanse me today and make me your child. Lord, I love to answer your question saying, “I love you, Lord”. I love you. Help me be a disciple who will follow your footsteps. Amen.
