The Treasure
My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. – Proverbs 2:1-6
My beloved in Christ, we see everyone in this world running after some treasures for their own reasons. Why do people need treasure? The simple answer is to live happy in this world. Do these worldly treasures really give joy to you? No, all these are treasures not eternal. It will fade away from you one day. We have an eternal treasure called Jesus. He is the one who can make you happy at any moment. He is the God of eternity who will give the eternal joy in you. Are you going after these worldly Joy? It’s time for you to turn to the eternal joy.
Our Loving God Jesus is full of treasures. He wants us to seek the treasures in Him. You may ask, why do I need these treasures? I tell you, the treasures of God will add strength to your life. You may go through different problems and temptations where you need the strength of God to overcome them.
What are the treasures of Jesus?
His Love, Compassion, Wisdom, Knowledge, Power are some of the treasures He has for you and there are so many hidden treasures in Him for you. These treasures will make you a different person in this world. God is eagerly waiting to give these treasures to you. In order to give these treasures God expects something from you, my brother and my sister
God chose Joshua after Moses to lead the Israelites to the promise land and He said,
Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:7-9
Joshua might have been afraid by seeing the thousands of Israelites, and he might have had this question in his mind as how he will lead these many people to the promise land and he realized that without God he cannot do this. And God said Joshua to obey His commands and not turn from it to the right or to the left that he may be successful. So Joshua obeyed God’s commands and lead Israelites to the promise land.
Yes my beloved, God wants you to obey his word and walk by His commands, turn your ear to Him so that you will gain wisdom and you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. When you know about your God, you will be successful like Joshua, you will lead multitudes to God’s promise land.
God expects you to seek His eternal treasures and find the knowledge of God and obey His commands. God will change your future. He will show the difference between you and others. Amen
