Hope

February 27, 2015

… We were pregnant, we writhed, but we have given birth to wind. We have accomplished no deliverance in the earth, and the inhabitants of the world have not fallen. Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise. You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For your dew is a dew of light, and the earth will give birth to the dead. – Isaiah 26:18, 19

Dears in Christ,

Apostle Paul writes that three things remain, Faith, Hope and Love. Let me share something beautiful about hope.

Hope comes from God. Just as it is written that he is the author and the finisher of faith, he is also the author and finisher of hope. John Lennon, in his song “Imagine” paints a dreamy picture of the world filled with hope but void of God. But we confess that our Hope is in God. And his kingdom will come and his will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Our hope doesn’t have its origins in sciences, political stance of the government, or wealth or intelligence. Our hope has a divine origin. Conceived fearfully and wonderfully by a master architect, the ancient of days, And hope does not disappoint us.

An interesting aspect about hope is that it is reciprocated. We are asked to put hope on God. But God hopes on us as well. He hoped so much on us that he gave his only begotten son so that we could partake in his divine nature. Jesus hopes so much on us that he intercedes on our behalf to God the Father. Who could possibly have hoped that 12 ordinary people can shake the world with the power of Gospel except the God?

So, don’t worry my brothers and sisters in Christ. Your parents may hope on you for attaining something practical, feasible and attainable by natural means. But check out God’s plan and his hope on you, it will take days to recover from the shock of the magnitude of his plans for you! He hopes on you.

In closing, let me recall the prayers of Prophet Isaiah. He had hoped for salvation, he labored for it but it was all a wind, paralleling the words of King Solomon “I have seen all the works which have been done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and striving after wind”

But it doesn’t stop there, the prayer continues breaking all the natural reasons, “Your dead shall live, their bodies shall rise” Such is the work of God. If he can make his dead live to accomplish his work how much more he can work through you and me. Take heart, your race is not over yet. This is not the time to give up. Give yourself to Him.

May God bless you.
