Be a blessing to many
Dear Sister,
We who were created in the image of God were made perfect in His image. But we have sinned and lost the glory of God. The Bible tells us clearly that “The wise woman builds her house. But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.” (Proverbs 14:1).
And we read in Job 28:28 that “And to depart from evil is understanding”. This world is a wicked one. But we are called to stay away from it and build our home in the Lord. We are also called to gain back the obedience that Eve lost, and to build our house in the Lord. Apart from obeying to the voice of God, the faith that we have in Him makes us to depart from evil and makes us perfect and keeps us a blessing to many. (Ephesians 6:16 and 1 John 5:18). We who live in this sinful world have pain, sorrow, poverty and tribulation. But when we submit ourselves to the Lord and obey Him we become a blessing to many. We can learn this from some of the women who are mentioned in the Bible.
When Hannah was provoked by others, she poured out her heart to the Lord. When she got the word of God from Eli the priest, she believed it, inherited it and gave forth Samuel the prophet to this world, glorifying God. (1 Samuel 1:16, 18, 28 and 2:1-10)
In spite of her poverty, the widow of Zarephath heeded to Elijah, the man of God and became a blessing to all her house at that time of famine and glorified God. (1 Kings 17: 12, 15, 24.)
In the similar manner, Esther who was a captive, even when she was raised up to be the queen, she listened to the voice of her God fearing father, fasted and prayed and became a blessing to her people and glorified God. (Esther 2: 16; 7: 3; 8: 16).
Even virgin Mary heeded to the voice of the angel sent forth from the presence of God, submitted herself, and gave forth Him who is called, “He will save His people from their sins” to this world and glorified God. (Matthew 1: 21; Luke 1: 30, 31 and 38).
Mary Magdalene who saw the risen Christ, obeyed His voice and declared to the disciples “the Lord is risen” and glorified the name of the Lord. (John 20: 18)
All the women mentioned above, having faith in God obeyed His voice irrespective of their situation and hence became a blessing to their children, family, people, world and even to the disciples.
Even today, many women are living as a blessing in like manner. The Lord calls you to be the same today, will you?
If so, make this prayer along with me.
Dear Father,
You have been the one who has blessed me with only good things in the past year. Thank you Father. There have been times in my life when I have not heeded to Your voice. There has also been times when I have not trusted You fully and departed from You. Please forgive me. I wish to listen to Your word, to believe in it and be a blessing to many. Lord, I pray that I should listen to your voice no matter what the circumstance is. In Jesus name Father, amen.
