YOUR LIFE IS HIS KINGDOM

June 2, 2014

“With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jawbone of an ass have I slain a thousand men”, shouted Samson standing in the midst of thousand corpses of the Philistines.

Years back, when God heard the cry of His own people in Egypt, He sent Moses, whom He knew face to face, as a savior to them, and brought them out of that land of slavery and settled them in the land of flowing milk and honey, the Canan. God established His people as a nation and kingdom, Israel. He was The King, but an invisible King. All that God purposed to do in the Nation, He commissioned the people through His chosen intermediaries, the Prophets and the Judges. Samson is one such Judge, whose birth was prophesied to his mother by an Angel of the Lord, when she was barren and bare not.

These were the times in the history of the people of God, where one other personality of the Triune God was manifested. He is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit came to establish the Kingdom of God in this earth.

Samson killed all the foes of the people of God only because he was filled and driven by the Holy Spirit, The Holy Spirit [Judges 15:14]. And as time moved on, the people of Israel forgot that God Himself is their king and pleaded to Prophet Samuel for a King. Samuel was reluctant, but obeying God he ordained and anointed Saul to be the first King of God’s own people. Did the sceptre really pass on to a man from the Hand of God? NO. But how? Answer is – The Holy Spirit [I Samuel 10 : 9-10]. It was God who commanded Saul what he must do to the nation, through the Holy Spirit. God proved to be the King of the kings.

But the painful moments for this King of kings are those when these humans failed Him. Samson went behind all that was pleasing to his eyes. At the end, he died repenting and pleading for one last chance. And Saul disobeyed the Creator’s command as he put his heart over the creations. He died killing himself, without even a last chance. The Bible records that, the Spirit of God left them.

The Holy Spirit then manifested His power and glory very few times and became so calm in the history for long long time, working silently. But God never gave up on His Kingdom. In all His sovereignty God spoke through His prophet Joel. “And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and I am the Lord your God… And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh. JOEL [2 : 27-28]”.

Before this prophecy came into reality, God had a different strategy. He revealed Himself to His people as the one other personality of the Triune God, Jesus Christ. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born in flesh to a mere carpenter’s wife. The King in a carpenter Family?!? Yes. His kingdom now is “Not of This World”. He chose the fishermen as His disciples, to be with Him. Sinners were His followers and friends. He went around doing good things and preaching about the Kingdom of God. After quiet a long time The Holy Spirit was manifested in greater glory in Jesus Christ, the Son of God [Acts 10 : 38]. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He hath put Him to grief [Isaiah 53 : 10]. Jesus was crucified and He died as a Martyr for His own Kingdom.

Another painful moment for this King had arrived. His disciples failed Him. Peter, whom He called “The Rock”, betrayed Him thrice. Thomas one of His vibrant disciple was then full of doubts. How can the Messiah, the promised King of Israel die? How then can a Kingdom be etablished when The King is dead? It can be. History of the Kingdom is not yet over. Jesus came back to life on the third day. Holy Spirit does it again [Romans 8 : 11]. The risen King ascended up to heaven as soon as He passed on the great commission to His disciples, “Go in to all the world and preach the Gospel of this kingdom”.

But what now for the disciples who failed Him? Did the King make a mistake in choosing the mere fishermen to follow Him? Did these disciples face a shameful death as Samson and Saul? NO. NEVER. But how? Wait! The Word of God is yet to reach it’s right time. When the day of Pentecost have fully come, the Holy Spirit who was silent till then, manifested openly to His people in thunderous sound and rushing wind. He descended upon all the disciples of Jesus Christ in split tongues of fire. Oh what a joyous moment for all the disciples as they tasted the Heaven’s Holiest, The Spirit of God. Did He stop there? NO. He continued to work in them as it is rightly recorded in the Bible, “He who began the good work in you will finish it till the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.” He worked on them till they became Christ-like. After that He started working with them. The Holy Spirit together with the disciples established the Kingdom of God wherever they went. Signs and wonders all the way. Raised the dead, healed the sick. Kingdom of God is not just in words but in power and authority. When the time had come for Peter, he was crucified and died as a missionary martyr, gazing into glory. And Thomas, died as a missionary martyr, when he was on a selfless mission to India for this Gospel of God’s Kingdom.

Samson and Saul abandoned! Peter and Thomas redeemed! What can justify the Justice of the Holy Spirit? Answer is – The Cross! [1 Corinthians 15 : 21-22] Jesus, by giving Himself as a sacrifice for all the sins of the whole world, made the way to God the Father, open and free for you. So now through Jesus Christ, the work of the Holy Spirit is not just to fulfill the will of God, but to work on you and transform you more like the Triune God and ultimately making you His Kingdom [2 Corinthians 4 : 14]. You have hope through Jesus Christ. YOUR LIFE IS HIS KINGDOM.

Spiritually, you do not belong to a nation but  His Kingdom !  And God is the King, a King full of unconditional love. For   God                   so[oooooooo] loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus. The invisible King is now visible to this earth, in you, through the Holy Spirit. Now is the time where the Glory and Power of the Holy Spirit will be manifested in and through you [1 Corinthians 4 : 20]. As Jesus had taught how to pray, the Holy Spirit is praying every moment and breathing, “Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be done on this earth.”

Yield your life to the Holy Spirit and join Him.

Amen, in Jesus name. Hallelujah!

Glory to the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
